Dartford Cricket Club has officially kicked off a landmark infrastructure upgrade at Hesketh Park this week, marking a major step forward in protecting and improving the ground for future generations.
Work on the club's new borehole system began earlier this week, with initial ground preparations successfully completed along the Park Road side of the boundary. The next phase of the project—the drilling of the borehole—is scheduled to begin later this month.
This development represents a significant financial investment by Dartford Cricket Club, made possible through a blend of funding from the ECB, local business sponsors, and generous donations from members.
Once fully operational, the borehole will provide a reliable, sustainable water source to help maintain playing surfaces during dry spells. Most importantly, it will support a high-quality outfield for all senior and junior teams, helping ensure strong playing conditions at Hesketh Park for years to come.
