Nosey tells us his best DCC moments...

The new featured player of the week in “Talk to me” is…

Shaun Parker!

Nickname - Nosey

How long have you played at the DCC - 28 years.

Best Game played in - Many over the years to be honest, but the Evening Standard games we played in 1994 on the way to the Final were special, we beat teams on the way who perhaps we had no right too, like Teddington, Maldon Wanderers & Enfield these were quality sides from Middlesex & Surrey Leagues. We had no out & out stars just 11 players who gave 110% for the team and club, and pulled each other through.

Funniest DCC moment off the pitch - Too many to mention at the home of cricket from Spoons, 3 man lift, the hatch, operation Randy, the list goes on & on over the last 20 years there has been many a laughs.

Funniest cricketing moment - As embarrassing for me as it was, Sevenoaks Vine away still was the funniest moment when I celebrated the run out by jumping around laughing etc etc only to then realise they had a runner and he was in by miles and had been for ages (one of those games you had to be there to witness and you may of possibly wet yourself laughing!)

Best Trainer - Probably Cookie or Rossiter – Ian is mid forty’s and is a legend at the club and was the best player for many years, but you will still see the old fella turning up every Wednesday for training week in week out, that shows what the man is all about committed to the cause and strives still at his age to play in the first team at the club whilst im sure others just wouldn’t bother !! Cookie on the other hand we all know is quality but whilst a lot younger than Rossi he also attends training regularly, but also when his game is not producing the goods he will do extra days/nights/ hours in the nets to get his game back on the road. A sign of a real winner.

Worst trainer - Ron Turner !! Bless him his body is a temple, yes Ronnie T turns up for training regularly but also regularly doesn’t make it out on to the pitch, and finds himself in the physio room most Wednesday’s for the whole session, Dave the physio should open a direct debit up for Turner.

The Joker - Again in the 80’s Mike Chaffe, 90’s saw the likes of Gower, Oist, Turner, Gunner ,2000’s you still have the old boys Gower/Turner making me laugh but the new kids on the block with energy & wit are Randy, Jay, Fitzy they are the future jokers (on & off the pitch nah only joking) they drink but also play hard.

Favourite all time cricketer - Ian Botham.

Favourite DCC song - “Walking down the pilgrims way, to see the Dartford aces… all the lads ….....”

Top DCC Score - 136 v Harvel (Sunday) 123 Not out v Gore Court (League).

Best Figures for the DCC - Oh dear, been a while since I bowled in league cricket of any note so sorry wouldn’t know although I have taken 8 for in Sunday cricket.

Favourite Grounds - Cape Town, SCG, MCG, Kandy, Barbados, Sandwich, Sibton Park, Folkestone, D.C.C.

Disliked Grounds - Blackheath, Orpington, and any ground where I don’t score runs.

Who is your DCC hero/inspiration - “The Legend”.
