Mark Baker - Talk to me!
Date of story: 05 Jun 2010Featured player of the week... Cheryl Baker
The new featured player of the week is….......
Mark Baker!
Nickname - Bakes, Cheryl and J-Lo. Cookie came up a new one at training last night though….. ‘the phantom’ following my recent ‘phantom’ injury!
How long have you played at the DCC - Since age of 10 so nearly 15 years
Best Game played in - Bexley a couple of years ago down at Bexley in the Cup when we won in something like the last over, Randy hitting a big boundary to give us the win. Good times!
Funniest DCC moment off the pitch - Any time that were doing initiations with the ‘sight screen challenge’. What a fantastic event! I think we have a number of guys who need to take part in this at some point soon, I don’t want to name names but: Clarkey, Brinn, Ross Hallam (Ross admitted the other week he’s never done it!) and I’m sure there’s more. Now that I think of it, maybe we should have a ‘WAGS’ sight screen challenge?? Now there’s an idea!
Funniest cricketing moment - This is a close one between seeing Steve Elson as a gangly 6’3 colt being pinned in the back of the head by the ball as he tried to take a quick single or the time that I got pinned by a bouncer as a colt, by a girl! Lucky I was wearing a helmet! Perhaps funnier for everyone else than for me.
Favourite all time cricketer - Graham Thorpe , what a legend
Best Trainer - Clearly myself
Worst trainer - Alex Farmer. There’s no clip board involved in a training session matey!
The Joker - Randy Rage – Is there a serious bone in that guys body? Perhaps we will find out when it’s his turn to get deep and meaningful with the DCC faithful.
Favourite DCC song - It goes a little bit like this: “all the lads, and all the lovely ladies walking down the pilgrims wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-y…….. to see the Dartford Aces!!”
Top DCC Score - 107 (this season)
Best Figures for the DCC - 4-13
Favourite Grounds - The Royal Hesketh, Tunbridge Wells, St Lawrence
Disliked Grounds - Bexley, Orpington
Who is your DCC hero/inspiration - The legend that is Ian Rossiter
