Four days of top coaching with three guest coaches - Vince Wells, Grahame Clinton and David Ward - all former county players.
We are pleased to announce that we have arranged some additional coaching courses in the coming Easter Holidays for juniors aged 10 and above with some special guest coaches including Vince Wells (England, Kent & Leicestershire); David Ward (Surrey); and Grahame Clinton, (Surrey - player & Head Coach).
The sessions planned for this Easter are the first time we have been able to offer such specialist coaching in smaller groups and a 1 to 1 environment and we have been able to secure 3 of the best coaches in the county if not the South East, all of whom have had successful professional playing careers.
DATE: 14th – 17th April
VENUE:Becketts Sports Centre, Dartford
TIME: 10-12am – ages 9-13; 1-3pm – ages 14-17
COST TO DCC MEMBERS:
Some of you will know and will have seen the benefit of being coached by Grahame Clinton who played and coached Surrey and is now Head of cricket at Colfes school. Vince Wells has played for a number of counties including Kent and captained Leicestershire to 2 County Championships and also represented England in the ODI format of the game at the World Cup. Lastly David Ward also had a long and successful career at Surrey and is now Head of Cricket at Whitgift School, one of the best sporting academies in the South of England.
This quality and greater individual exposure for players obviously means a higher cost but I honestly believe the benefits far outweigh the costs and those of you that take advantage of some or all of these sessions will quickly see that. We are aware that there are lots of other coaching opportunities out there for players which may last for longer and cost less but these don’t offer the level of attention and expertise that we are offering and is more akin the general coaching our youngsters are already getting.
Places are being offered to players across the Borough and beyond through schools like Dartford Grammar and Colfes and will be limited. We have however tried to make sure our members are prioritised by making the discounts significant. The expectation isn’t necessarily that players come to all 4 sessions but we’ve included discounts for those that wish to and also where you have more than 1 child wishing to participate.
Players at both morning and afternoon sessions are invited to have lunch with the coaches each day providing a further opportunity to ask questions, take photos and enjoy hearing about their experiences. Providing we get the numbers we will also look to provide lunch itself each day for those that choose to partake.
